Professor John Hattie from Melbourne University conducted ground breaking research to identify the most effective strategies a teacher could use to enhance student achievement. He examined 150 influences on student achievement and found that providing effective feedback ranked in the top ten. “Effective feedback has the potential to have a profound effect on student achievement – it can double the speed of learning” (Hattie, 2013).
He identified the key qualities of Effective Feedback.
